About Me

I have a mission: to share Michigan’s incredible beauty with the world and to turn this beautiful state into a top international destination.

I was born in Brazil and moved to Michigan 21 years ago. As the daughter of a Psychiatrist and an Environmental Engineer, I truly believe in the healing power of Nature and in the importance of protecting our environment.

I started this blog in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic as an answer to many friends asking me for tips of places in Michigan that they could visit with their families to social distance and destress. Since then, I’ve been often getting messages like “this place is 10 minutes from my house and I never knew it existed!”, or “I grew up in this neighborhood and didn’t know about this place”, or “is this in Michigan?”. This makes me happy, so keep them coming! 🙂

I always tell my friends in Brazil that Michigan is the USA’s “best kept secret”. We have it all here:
✔️ Beaches?
✔️ Woods?
✔️ Waterfalls?
✔️ Dunes?
✔️ Mountains?
✔️ Four seasons? Amazing food? Local wineries?

The best part is that Michigan still has that friendly environment, beach town feeling and many remote and exclusive areas to be explored without the crowds.

As a proud Michigander, I also want to use this platform to showcase Michigan’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. There are a lot of incredible things happening in Michigan that deserve to be shared. Michigan is exploding with so many amazing entrepreneurs that need our support now more than ever. Restaurants, Airbnbs, artists, craftsmen, our musical scene, cafés, theaters, pop-up shops and restaurants… A myriad of great things are quietly happening here that deserve to be shared and and we need to showcase, them, to boost them, and to support them.

I want to travel the entire state and document all of these places but that takes time and money, so I am still trying to work it out. I’ve been looking for Michigan partners and getting support from other social media influencers and I am confident things will fall into place, hopefully soon.
